Lost Boys star Corey Haim dies
Our thoughts are with the friends and family of actor Corey Haim as it’s been announced that the 38-year-old was found dead in the early hours of this morning at his home in California.
Early reports attribute the death to an ‘accidental overdose’.
Haim was perhaps best known for his 1980s film roles, particularly those alongside his close friend Corey Feldman. He starred in the ‘original’ teen vampire flick, The Lost Boys, as well as films like Licence to Drive and Lucas.
He also had a short fling with a pre-Beckham Posh Spice, which he was very vocal about to the press.
But over recent years he has received less publicity for his acting or relationships, and more for his struggles with drug addiction. However in 2004, he claimed to be clean and sober.
In 2007, he reunited with Corey Feldman for the reality TV series ‘The Two Coreys’ which looked at their turbulent relationship.

Ladies first…now the gentlemen!
The honey’s have had more than enough coverage and rightfully so. The red carpet at this year’s Oscar ceremony saw ladies that were dazzling and graceful, as for the men? Well a few most definitely spiced up their attire as seen above!
Robert Downey Jr. wore a Lanvin suit but added sneakers, some blue-shaded glasses and an oversized blue bowtie. How very Johnny Depp of him!

The winning acceptance speech
Now that the gowns and the winners of the Oscar’s have been revealed we thought one of the speeches deserved a spotlight of its own.
Best Actress winner Sandra Bullock who won for her performance in The Blind Side wowed the audience with a wonderfully well thought out and equally well-delivered acceptance speech.
Below is the heartfelt piece.
“Did I really earn this or did I just wear you all down? I would like to thank the Academy for allowing me in the last month to have the most incredible ride with rooms full of artists that I see tonight and that I’ve worked with before and I hope to work with in the future, who inspire me and blaze trails for us. Four of them that I’ve fallen deeply in love with I share this night with and I share this award with.
Gabby, I love you so much. You are exquisite. You are beyond words to me. Carey, your grace and your elegance and your beauty and your talent makes me sick. Helen, I feel like we are family through family and I don’t have the words to express just what I think of you. And Meryl, you know what I think of you and you are such a good kisser.
I have so many people to thank for my good fortune in this lifetime and this is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, I know. To the family that allowed me to play them, the Tuohy family, I know they’re in here and you’ll probably hear her in a minute. Maybe not. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to… the family that made this film that gave me the opportunity to do something different. John Lee Hancock, Gil Netter, Alcon, Warner Bros., the actors, everyone who’s shown me kindness when it wasn’t fashionable, I thank you. To everyone who was mean to me when it wasn’t… George Clooney threw me in a pool years ago. I’m still holding a grudge. But there’s so many people to thank.
Not enough time, so I would like to thank what this film is about for me which are the moms that take care of the babies and the children no matter where they come from. Those moms and parents never get thanked. I, in particular, failed to thank one. So… if I can take this moment to thank Helga B. for not letting me ride in cars with boys until I was 18 because she was right. I would’ve done what she said I was gonna do. For making me practice every day when I got home. Piano, ballet, whatever it is I wanted to be. She said to be an artist, you had to practice every day, and for reminding her daughters that there’s no race, no religion, no class system, no color, nothing, no sexual orientation that makes us better than anyone else. We are all deserving of love. So, to that trailblazer, who allowed me to have that. And this. And this. I thank you so much for this opportunity that I share with these extraordinary women and my lover Meryl Streep. Thank you.”

Lily Allen experiences the opposite of Oscars glamour
If you need a break from looking at the celebrities Oscars gowns and feeling insanely jealous, then we have welcome relief with these exclusive photos of a ‘flashing’ incident this weekend.

Who is the star in the background looking visibly distressed? It’s Lily Allen fresh off the stage at Manchester’s MEN arena after her gig with Dizzee Rascal at the weekend.

Poor Lily – judging by the Smile singer’s terrified face the man must have a spotty bottom or something!
If she gets hassle like this after every gig, no wonder she’s announced plans to start her own vintage fashion shop Lucy Does Disguise this summer.

Vanity Fair Oscars Party: Fashion and Gossip
The Vanity Fair post-Oscars party at the Sunset Tower in West Hollywood was a real mix of extreme glamour and stars that looked like they were going shopping (ie not red carpet).
This is the hottest Oscar party ticket in town – Katie Price was reportedly denied entry to the bash hosted by the magazine’s editor Graydon Carter.
All the winners, including best actress Sandra Bullock and best director Kathryn Bigelow, turned up after the awards.
But here is the mix of glamour and causal wear from guests who started off at this event.

Elton John’s Oscars party – fashion and gossip
It’s the 18th time Elton John has hosted an annual Oscars party and as always, there was drama.
Elton’s party is for those in Hollywood that haven’t got movies nominated so the stars don’t have to be on their best behaviour!
The first talking point of the night was Elton’s blue glasses, (matching lots of the ladies’ marine coloured dresses):
The second point of controversy was the meeting of arch-rivals Jordan and Victoria Beckham on the red carpet outside the bash at The Pacific Design Centre.
Victoria looked elegant in a dress from her own collection:
But Jordan really made an effort in an elegant electric blue gown:
With outfits like this, it’s a wonder the stars managed to eat their five-course dinner.
We hear Crumble Catering provided an Italian meal with a starter of spring vegetable compote followed by saffron licquorice risotto (cooked to order), garnished with a jumbo prawn. For mains, there was a choice of pan-seared fish with lentils or New York steak with candied celery and wine sauce and that was followed by a small green salad with roasted beets. Dessert was a mouth-watering crispy milk chocolate bar with apricot coulis and meringue sticks.
The food sounds almost as gorgeous as the stars’ outfits. Here are some more of our favourite fashion picks, from stars that just attended Elton’s bash.
