Madonna Shows Off Statement Bag At Birthday Bash
She wears a lot of leotards and occasionally squeezes into leather trousers that do little for the imagination, but sometimes Madonna pulls it out of the bag when it comes to fashion.
The chart-topping artist literally did just that at the weekend as she arrived at a party for her 52nd birthday carrying a statement clutch bag. Yes, that really is a giant crucifix attached to the front.
Where’s it from? It’s the Olympus Teneo crucifixion clutch. As well as black leather, it comes it python and snakeskin, although we don’t think Madge’s famous vegetarian pal Stella McCartney would be very impressed by that!
For once, Madonna made the effort to cover her infamous upper arms as her stylish satin dress had short sleeves. Maybe she is getting more conservative in her age?
Or maybe not, as she did stay at the bash at London’s Shoreditch House until 2am, with her 13 year old daughter Lourdes…some things will never change!

Sophie Ellis Bextor Lights Up Vintage At Goodwood
What a treat to see Sophie Ellis Bextor looking lovely in lace at Vintage at Goodwood.
The singer is back with a new studio album Straight to the Heart and she performed a couple of tracks from that on the stage erected at the country home and racecourse.
Straight to The Heart is her fourth studio album and while there are high hopes for it’s success when it’s released in October, Sophie says she has her eyes on other things aside from fashion.
“After my set, I’ll meet up with my friend Pearl Lowe, who’s at the festival to show off her range of designs for Peacocks,” Sophie said. “This season she’s done a lot of vintage pieces and that’s something I would love to do eventually.
“Right now, I am majorly busy but I am obsessed by vintage clothes and retro fashion and it’s an area that I definitely want to explore.”
Sophie’s mum is Blue Peter presenter Janet Ellis, and the singer has gone on record saying she borrows some of her mother’s old clothes. Must be in the genes…or dresses!

Nicola Roberts Reveals Dainty Doll Plans
Looks like Girls Aloud singer Nicola Roberts is in a good mood after spilling the beans about her new make-up range Dainty Doll to the press. She posted this photo of herself on Twitter during the media launch day and it’s clear to see how relaxed and happy she looks.
It might be hard to get noticed in a girl band that boasts such members as Cheryl Cole and Sarah Harding, but the flame haired singer has started to blossom recently.
Nicola is celebrating her bright auburn hair and fair skin and her newly redeveloped make-up range contains products especially developed for people with pale skin and barely-there eyelashes and eyebrows.
The initial version of Dainty Doll went on sale through ASOS when Nicola developed it while doing the ITV2 show Passions of Girls Aloud in 2008, but she’s put more work into the range since Girls Aloud went on their year break.
The pop star announced plans to sell it in more shops, including the larger Boots stores and department stores like Harrods. She will do a signing at Harrods tomorrow as part of the promotional campaign.

Miranda Kerr is pregnant
Miranda Kerr has finally admitted she is pregnant after enduring weeks of rumors ever since she broke the hearts of a million women and married Orlando Bloom.
The Victoria’s Secret model told Spanish Vogue in an interview, “Yes, I’m pregnant. Four months along.”
Miranda will join her co-models Gisele Bundchen, Doutzen Kroes and Heidi Klum as she becomes a mother and then, beyond the laws of physics, loses her baby weight in 4 weeks or less.

N-Dubz Do Designer
It looks like N-Dubz are finally seeing the fruits of their chart success as Tulisa and Fazer have been splashing the cash in the designer shops of London’s Sloane Street.
Filled with adrenalin about her expensive purchases, Tulisa kept us posted with shopping updates over Twitter.
First, she revealed she had bought a handbag from Louis Vuitton. Then she shared she had bought one from Gucci and photographed them both (middle photo).
But if that wasn’t enough, she wrote a Twitter message saying Fazer had been ‘bitten by the bug’ and photographed their joint purchases strewn out on a bed. Hope they’ve got good locks in their flat – as it’s an expensive stash (bottom photo)!
Where was their bandmate Dappy? Perhaps he was investing in a new model airplane as The Nod as heard his secret hobby is buying planes…and crashing them.
Or perhaps he discovered the designer shops don’t sell the bobble hats he wears.
Either way, it’s good to see N-Dubz support the British designer fashion industry rather than buy cheap fakes. Let this be a lesson to their fans – real lasts a lot longer than fakes and shopping for them is a lot more fun!

Mischa’s Minxy Shopping Spree
Mischa Barton is still clearly in the honeymoon period in her relationship with new DJ boyfriend Ali Love judging by the shops they visited at the weekend.
The lovebirds, who have been dating for approximately two months, stopped off at lingerie boutique Coco de Mer during a shopping spree in London’s Covent Garden.
They’d checked out a few trainer shops earlier in the day as well as the central London branch of Office but left empty handed.
However, they emerged with two bags full of purchases from Coco De Mer – one for him and one for her?
Although they’ve only been together a matter of weeks, the former OC actress is said to be considering leaving her base in LA to be in Britain and closer to her new man.
Ali – real name Alexander McLovan – is an up and coming London based DJ who has played with Mark Ronson and been on tour with Just Jack.
Friends of the actress say he’s more grounded than her last two British ex’s – Razorlight rocker Johnny Borrell and The Kooks frontman Luke Pritchard.
That may be true long term, but we met he felt like he was in heaven when they opened their shopping bags!

Busy Lily Allen Has No Time To Really Chill
She may have just played at the Big Chill festival, but 25-year old Lily Allen definitely won’t get much time to chill out and put her feet up before the birth of her first child, as she has a million projects on the go. She’s developing a vintage fashion line, writing songs for a musical based on the Bridget Jones books and films, and selling her London house to move to the Cotswolds – phew!
After the chart-topper finished her first gig since formally announcing her happy news, she thanked the crowd at Eastnor Castle for the happy messages her fans had sent her since she revealed she was expecting, then said she wanted to stop doing energetic gigs to give her unborn baby a more comfortable time.
But although she won’t be running round on stage, busy Lily will be running round the UK as even though she’s planning a move out of the city, she’s also opening a new vintage shop in London with her sister Sarah Owen. People living outside of London will be able to browse for clothes online and Lily’s said she wants it to be like the Net a Porter of the vintage fashion world.
Called Lucy in Disguise, the pair are planning to launch it in October in the Noho area of London, just North of Oxford Street. Watch this space for more news when we get it!

What’s On The Sugababes Shopping List?
The Sugababes singer Heidi Range made the most of a day off from recording the band’s latest album for a mega shopping spree in London’s Soho.
The 27-year-old is the longest serving Sugababe having been in the pop trio for eight years.
We’d say her style has definitely evolved over that time as she looked effortlessly chic in a casual designer outfit for her shopping trip. Chanel and Louis Vuitton in one outfit? Well done, Heidi!
The Liverpudlian lass was probably picking up wedding supplies as she’s due to wed her TV presenter fiance Dave Berry at the end of the year. He popped the question on holiday in Thailand on New Year’s Eve.
It looks like engaged life definitely suits her and she’s going to have to do even more shopping soon as she revealed she’s been slimming down in preparation for her big day.
Heidi is the face of Virgin Active gyms’ Zumba exercise classes and said she is only eating treats one day a week to shape up sensibly without resorting to an extreme diet.
We can’t wait to see her wedding dress…and her bandmates Amelle Berrabah and Jade Ewen as bridesmaids!

After splitting with ex Wasps rugby player Danny Cipriani she’s got straight back to work – and the gym – and showed she was fitter than ever as she posed next to the poster campaign she made for the range.
